WHAT KIND OF TOFU IS USED FOR TOFU SCRAMBLE?
I prefer using firm tofu. Extra-firm is fine as well. There is no need to press your tofu for this recipe; the water will cook out in the first couple of minutes.
HOW LONG DOES TOFU SCRAMBLE LAST IN THE FRIDGE?
Store tofu scramble in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to five days.
CAN I FREEZE TOFU SCRAMBLE?
You can freeze Tofu Scramble, but the texture of Tofu changes a lot when frozen, it will be dry, and more crumbly!
HOW DO YOU REHEAT TOFU SCRAMBLE?
Reheat tofu scramble in the microwave or on the stove-top in a skillet. If you want to add moisture, you can add a splash of non-dairy milk.
How to Make Tofu Scramble?
Begin your tofu scrambled eggs with a block of extra firm tofu. I like to press it to remove as much moisture from the tofu as possible. If you don’t have a tofu presser (I highly recommend them), then simply wrap the tofu in a kitchen towel, place it on a plate and top it with something heavy, like a small iron skillet.
Then heat oil to a frying pan and saute onion and tomato. Add the veggies and seasonings. Toss the scrambled tofu and cook till its dry. Garnish with cilantro and dash of lime juice.

The Best Tofu Scramble Recipe:
INGREDIENTS:
1 tbsp olive oil
1 small onion, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 small tomato, chopped
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp red chili powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
3/4 tsp salt, or to taste
8 oz extra-firm tofu, crumbled
lemon juice, of 1 lemon
cilantro, to garnish
DIRECTIONS:
- Crumble tofu with your hands and set it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan on medium heat. Once the oil is hot, saute the onion, garlic and green chillies for 2 minutes.
- Then add the chopped tomato and saute for few minutes.
- Now add the turmeric, red chili powder, cumin powder and salt.
- Add in the crumbled tofu to the pan and mix well till its combined.
- Turn off the heat and stir in fresh lemon juice.
- Garnish tofu scramble with cilantro and serve!
