Bread Halwa is a delicious Indian dessert prepared using bread which is deep-fried in ghee and then cooked in a sugar syrup until its creamy and luscious, topped with nuts for extra crunchy!

- 5 thick white bread slices
- 1/4 cup ghee
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 tbsp almonds chopped
- 2 tbsp cashew chopped
- 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup milk
Remove the ends from the bread and cut them into small cubes.
Heat ghee in a pan , fry the bread pieces until golden brown. Then add chopped nuts and fry them until golden brown.
Make the sugar syrup by adding sugar and water to a pan on low flame.
Allow to simmer for 5 minutes and add the fried bread slices in the sugar syrup and cook for 8-10 minutes. Add the milk and try to mash the halwa with the spoon.
Finally add cardamom powder and mix well. Serve hot with more chopped nuts on top.
