2-Ingredient Nutella Mousse

An easy, rich and creamy, no bake dessert can be made ahead of time, so it’s perfect for entertaining. And basically it requires just 2-ingredients!

Yay, chocolate-hazelnut spread and a light whipped cream to make this light and airy chocolate-y mousse!It’s gluten-free and egg-free too.

You can serve this mousse with almost anything. I love to add a dollop of whipped cream and a few fresh berries and nuts. It helps cut through the sweetness and makes for one impressive dessert.

How it is made?

Whisk the heavy cream until soft peaks form in hand mixer or electric mixer. Add 3 tablespoons of the whipped cream to the Nutella and whisk until smooth. Gently fold in the rest of the whipped cream until combined and smooth. Transfer to a serving cups and chill the mousse at least 2 hours until set.

Garnish with chocolate chips/shavings, hazelnuts/nuts or berries/fruits.

Tips for PREFECT Mousse:

  • Ratio – The key to prefect mousse is the Nutella-whipped cream ratio. I have used 1:2 ratio for light, airy and smooth in texture.
  • Texture – To get that silky, smooth texture, you need to whip the cream gently. Over whipping will make it grainy
  • Consistency – The perfect consistency is when it holds its shape, but still has soft peaks. Don’t wait until the whipped cream is stiff.

How to store?

Store in the fridge, covered, for up to 4 days. Just add the desired toppings on the day of serving.

Can we Use This as a Cake Filling?

Yes! This easy recipe can also be used as a cake filling!

This nutella mousse makes a perfect hostess gift or a great and easy-to-make dessert to bring to a potluck or an evening with friends. It also makes a great dessert for fancier dinners with fancy guests. Not, that we wouldn’t be fancy. But honestly, spooning this extremely creamy, airy and soft nutella mousse right out of the jar in front of the TV will give you satisfaction too.

2 Ingredient Nutella Mousse

Ingredients

1 cup (320 g/11.3 oz) Nutella
2 cups cold heavy cream

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Place Nutella in a large bowl. Microwave it for a few seconds to soften it, then let it cool slightly.
  2. In a mixer bowl fitted with the whisk attachment, whisk the heavy cream until soft peaks form. Add 3 tablespoons of the whipped cream to the Nutella and whisk until smooth. Gently fold in the rest of the whipped cream until combined and smooth. Transfer to a trifle bowl, or divide evenly between serving cups.
  3. Chill the mousse at least 2 hours until set. Garnish with chocolate chips/shavings, hazelnuts/nuts or Ferrero Rocher. Store in the fridge, covered, for up to 4 days.
