Chicken Bread Rolls

Looking for perfect Non-Veg Snacks for this Ramadan? Or Looking to use up the leftover rotisserie chicken ? Then this Chicken Bread Rolls is a must try recipe!

Basically, moist bread slices are stuffed with Chicken and Veggies that are tossed in Chinese sauces and deep dried to golden and crisp which is prefect for tea time snacks!

HOW TO MAKE THIS CHICKEN BREAD ROLLS?

Heat oil in a wok or pan and add garlic, green chillies and then add the white part of green onions, saute for a minute.

Add veggies and sauté on high heat for a minute. Then add sauces, vinegar, salt, pepper and sauté for 2 minutes. Cook till the mixture dries up.

Add spring onion greens, boiled chicken and sauté for 2 minutes on high heat. Take it off the stove. Allow it to cool.

Cut the sides of the bread slices and dip a slice in water just for a second and squeeze it very well between the palms to drain off the excess liquid taking care that slice does not break.

Place a tablespoon of prepared mixture in the center and bring the edges together, seal and roll in between the palms to form a smooth roll. Repeat the same for all.

Heat oil in a large pan. Once the oil is hot, deep fry the rolls till golden and crisp.

Serve them hot with sauce, ketchup or chutney of your choice along with cup of chai.

WHAT ARE OTHER STUFFING VARIATIONS?

Some of my suggestion are:

  • Potato and Peas
  • Tofu
  • Paneer
  • Mixed vegetables of choice (carrot, beans, peas, cabbage, cauliflower, beans, zucchini, beetroots and many more)

HOW TO FREEZE THIS BREAD ROLLS?

Yes, you can freeze these bread rolls in a freezer for upto 2 months.

To freeze them, place all the rolls onto a tray or plate and freeze for 2 hours. Once they are frozen, store them in zip bag or air tight container.

HOW TO MAKE IN AIR FRYER?

To make it in an air fryer, pre-heat the air fryer at 180C for 10 minutes. Then, brush it with oil.and bake it for 16-20 minutes or until, golden and crisp. Keep in mind to flip it once in half way.

CAN WE BAKE THIS BREAD ROLLS?

Yes, you can bake these rolls in preheated over at 200C for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crisp. Do not forget to brush the rolls with oil before, putting it into the oven. Keep in mind to flip it once in half way.

HOW TO SERVE THIS?

Bread rolls makes a perfect evening snack with a cup of tea. Serve these bread roll with ketchup along with a hot cup of tea. These rolls makes an excellent starters /appetizers or snacks box meal for your kids.

Chicken Bread Rolls:

INGREDIENTS :

1 cup boneless chicken, boiled and shredded
2 tbsp cooking oil
3-4 garlic cloves, minced
2 green chillies, finely chopped
1/4 cup cabbage, grated/chopped
1/4 cup bell peppers, finely chopped
1/3 cup carrot, finely chopped/grated
1/4 cup spring onion greens, finely chopped
2 tbsp green chili sauce
1 tbsp hot sauce or sriracha
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp vinegar
1 tbsp ketchup
1/2 tsp pepper powder
Salt as per taste
10 bread slices
Oil for deep frying
Water as required

  • Can you white or wheat bread for this recipe. Here i have used wheat bread.
